This artwork, a vibrant fusion of Pop Art and contemporary illustration, captures attention with its dynamism and boldness. The central protagonist, an anthropomorphized green cylinder with a single eye, embodies a DJ in action. Holding a pair of white headphones in his left hand and leaning toward a colorful mixing desk, the character seems immersed in the music he is creating.
The artist has brilliantly used bright, contrasting colours to accentuate key elements. The red, orange and blue tones of the mixing desk immediately catch the eye, while the musical notes floating in the air add a sense of movement and rhythm. In the background, a glittering disco ball with golden sparkles evokes a festive and celebratory atmosphere. The thick black lines and sharp outlines, characteristic of Pop Art, bring structure and definition to the work, reinforcing the visual impact. The white background highlights all the elements without distracting the viewer. This creation, through its originality and playful style, succeeds in capturing the essence of music and dance. Presentation
Seth One, born in 1977 in Paris, was influenced by the proliferation of tags and graffiti in Paris and its suburbs during the 1980s. He began his graffiti work in the 1990s as part of the STS and CLM groups, actively engaging with the numerous urban surfaces the city offers.
His work on canvas developed later, driven by the desire to approach the dynamics of his letters in a different way than on walls. This process, which he named "Graffolyse," involves the dissolution of the letter, its degradation, giving way to components, ornaments, dynamic forms, and strong lines to create a snapshot of movement.
This transformation is further enriched by various influences such as pop art, primitive arts, and the imagery of 90s skate, surf, and comic culture.
