Description
This stunning artwork immediately catches the eye with its bold and harmonious use of color. Dominated by vibrant hues of blue and red, it is broken down into distinct sections, each offering rich texture and striking contrast. The upper portion is a sea of luminous blue, reminiscent of an open sky or vast expanse of water, splashed with textured patterns that appear to float on the surface. Raised details add an extra dimension, creating a sense of depth and movement. The center of the work is marked by a series of horizontal lines, like waves or shockwaves, that run across the piece. These lines serve as a bridge between the blue and the red, perhaps symbolizing a transition or juxtaposition of emotions or concepts. There is a palpable tension in this section, where the colors seem to collide yet blend harmoniously. The lower half of the work is dominated by an intense red, almost volcanic in its depth and warmth. The texture here is rougher and more tormented, with cracks and streaks that add tactile complexity. This contrast with the softer and more fluid upper part suggests a dichotomy between calm and agitation, reflection and passion. The entire work is a testament to technical mastery and artistic vision. The artist succeeds in capturing the essence of duality, tension and harmony in a single painting. Each detail, each color and each texture is deliberately chosen to play a specific role, making this painting a captivating and emotionally rich piece, which invites the viewer to deep contemplation and personal interpretation.
Presentation
It was in the midst of political upheaval in Iran that Maryam arrived in Paris in October 1979.
His first goal was to learn French. The second, to prepare for the entrance exam to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts.
She passed the competition and five years later, she obtained her drawing diploma with honors. It was on this occasion and as a reward that she was invited to exhibit at the gallery of the great mass of fine arts, rue Mazarine, a series of her works on the theme of the “circus" which had a great success.
Then, attracted by lithography and screen printing, she practiced these techniques for two years in the workshops of Abraham Hadad and Michel Salzmann.
She then wanted to complete her training by acquiring the theoretical aspects of the Art. She therefore enrolled at the Sorbonne where she graduated with a master's degree in visual arts.
Finally, several years later, Maryam joined a decoration school and therefore had, alongside this artistic career, the opportunity to work as a decorator and plastic arts teacher.
Since 1986, collective exhibitions have taken place across France. From the 2000s, his work was exhibited around the world, including the United States (Dallas and Washington), Europe (Sweden, Spain, Italy, Belgium) and China (Beijing).
