Description
This artwork masterfully captures the ethereal transition between land and sea, using an evocative palette of warm yellows and cool blues. The composition is divided diagonally, with the upper left dominated by a luminous burst of golden tones, suggesting either a sunrise or sunset. This radiant area diffuses light across the canvas, creating a sense of depth and warmth. To the right, the deep blues and purples of the sea provide a striking contrast, embodying the calming yet mysterious nature of water. The artist skillfully blends these colors, achieving a seamless fusion that evokes both movement and stillness. Fine vertical brushstrokes at the bottom hint at vegetation, adding a subtle texture that grounds the composition. The abstract style of the painting invites viewers to interpret its elements subjectively, offering an immersive experience that is both reflective and emotional. This interplay of light and color exudes a dreamlike quality, making it a truly captivating piece.
Presentation
Gina Fortunato was born in Spinazzola, in the province of Bari, in 1964.
From a very young age, she developed a natural predisposition for drawing, but with the passage of time she matured the conviction that art should be experienced in all its forms. In order to deepen her knowledge of the many forms of art, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, where in-depth study of the various disciplines led her to perfect drawing, the formal balance of compositions, the study and analysis of colour and the various painting, plastic and scenographic techniques.
The various matrices of European figurative painting were undoubtedly her source of inspiration.
