Description
Varv71
This oil painting, entitled "Totem", is a fascinating and thought-provoking work of art. The clothespins and washcloths hanging on the nail create an image that is at once familiar and yet strangely surreal. There is a sense of irony and humor in the way that the everyday objects are arranged to resemble a totem pole. But there is also a deeper meaning to be found in the work. The artist has used photorealism to create an illusion of reality, making us question what is real and what is not. This is a powerful and provocative painting that will stay with you long after you have seen it.
