Description
With simple geometric shapes and a neutral color palette, I wanted to create something alive and spiritual. The work is abstract but we can imagine a deconstructed bird. Personally, I like to see an ibis and why not, even an interpreted representation of the god Thoth, with his black ibis head and his astral headdress.
The aesthetic choice of including a bit of gilding in this neutral and contrasting range immediately made me think of ancient Egypt.
However, this painting can also be seen simply as an abstract geometric composition, from the "mid-century" period or also called "modern art". In any case, the work offers a resolutely timeless and very versatile graphic design.
The background is perfectly white and stands out visually on a stained wall. The shapes are composed of black, gray, greige and gold. I refrained from painting the bevels of the canvas, so as not to "encircle" the composition, to let it "breathe". Note that this part of the painting is washable.
There are two works in one; It can be oriented in 2 different ways; Horizontal or vertical. The fixings have been provided for both cases, the painting is ready to be hung.
Presentation
“I am for a reconnection with the Living; My artistic quest is to express the beauty and joy of being connected to the Earth.
In love with our blue planet, Sophie follows her inspiration wherever it comes from, as long as the common thread is, mainly the Environment, more precisely the Natural Elements. She uses contrast to bring out the light, tries to get to the essential, with the grace of the natural.
Sophie is a French artist, born in Paris in 1964. Listed at i-CAC, present on the international art market for 20 years.
Graduated as a “decorative painter" from the Art et Métier Institute for Decorative Mural Art;
Frescoes and Trompe-l'oeil.
