Description
Tar357"Night City" is a dynamic and atmospheric oil painting that captures the essence of an urban scene at night, brought to life with a rich tapestry of colors and textures. The scene is set on a rain-drenched street, the slick cobblestones reflecting the myriad of lights and colors from the surrounding buildings and the night sky. The composition is filled with deep blues and shadows, punctuated by the warm glow of windows and street lamps, creating a contrast that suggests the buzz of nighttime activity. The sky is animated with streaks of white and blue, suggesting either the last vestiges of a storm or the movement of clouds in a brisk night wind. The vertical lines of the rain, both falling and reflected on the ground, add to the impression of a downpour that has just passed, leaving the air crisp and the ground shimmering with reflections. The architecture appears historic, possibly European, with church spires rising into the night sky, giving a sense of age and history against the more transient elements of weather and light. Presentation
Born in 1953 in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
1965–1969: Studied at an art school.
1968–1973: Studied at the Dnipro Art School, specializing in painting.
From 1978: Participated in republican, all-union, and international exhibitions.
1988: Became a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
The artist's works can be seen in museums in Ukraine and abroad, including the Boston Museum of Social Art. Many of his pieces are in private collections in the USA, European countries, Turkey, and Israel.
Currently lives and works in Zaporizhzhia.
Anatoly Tarabanov works in the field of easel painting.
Tarabanov's art combines direct life impressions with meticulous work on form. The artist himself believes that the technique of painting needs to be perfected throughout life, constantly experimenting and introducing something new. His works always exude a clear, confident rhythm that dominates among the lively bursts of decorative spots. This is why Anatoly's works are easily understood, and their profound meaning is easily read.
