Description
Presentation
Michael Rapoport is a painter, born in Alma-Ata in 1948 in Kazakhstan.
He has been living and working in Israel since 1990.
Michael Rapoport graduated from the Arts Academy in Tashkent in 1972.
Michael Rapoport's paintings are at the crossroads of realism and the appearance of a dream or an almost forgotten memory. Painting is an important way of expression for the artist, this allows him to illustrate his personal life, and offer universal images.
His paintings have a metaphorical look, they should include figuration and hinted poetry which is rational and dreamy at the same time. Painting allows Michael Rapoport to free himself from our world which is overrun by technology.
One can feel the Rusian and Israeli culture in each of his paintings.
