Description
This artwork, a bucolic landscape, captures the tranquility of a river bordered by majestic trees under an overcast sky. The soft color palette, dominated by deep greens and muted grays, evokes a serene and introspective atmosphere. In the background, a solitary house emerges among the lush vegetation, telling a story of peace and isolation. The artist has masterfully rendered the reflection of light on the water, creating a shimmering backdrop that accentuates the duality between sky and earth. The precise details of the foliage and the texture of the sky bring a tactile and vivid dimension to the scene, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in this timeless nature. It is a harmonious study of the symbiosis between man and his environment.
Presentation
Born in Venice, he was a son of the arts: his father, Emilio Zago, was an important interpreter of the Venetian dialect, with whom he began working as a child. He later created his own theatre companies, performing in various Goldonian works; he was a stage companion of Cesco Baseggio and Toni Barpi, among others.
In the cinema he made his debut in 1935 in the film La luce del mondo by the director Gennaro Righelli, at the same time the EIAR gave him the opportunity to act in various radio comedies.
During the Second World War he worked on several films shot in the Scalera studios on the Giudecca in Venice.
He died in his home town in 1947.
