About BASM
As an artist, my main goal is not only to attract the viewer's interest but also to evoke an emotion and when he looks at my work, I want him to see more than an image, I would like him to see it as a message. A painting that speaks to me and the viewer about ourselves and the world we live in.
I don't limit myself to a medium, subject or style, sometimes it could be a mixed media piece or a sculpture, sometimes the spray paint hits the canvas or the brush meets the paper, it's always something different. This way I can freely express all my ideas and the result could be downright bold and provocative, erotic and humorous or just an intense socio-political commentary on the world.
One of his representative works was auctioned on Catawiki for 10,000 euros in 2021.
Today I can proudly say that my works are found among collectors in more than 40 countries around the world.
Many works have also been exhibited in various group exhibitions, to name a few:
''Cash is King'' 1 & 2 @ The Saatchi Gallery - London 2018/2019
''Street Money'' - @ Galerie Sakura - Paris 2020
"Money for Nothing - 1001 -"
Chongqing Museum of Art - China / July 8 - September 8 / 2022
Personal exhibitions:
''HEARTistic'' @ London 2019
''REBRANDING'' @ Paris 2020
''Behind the colours'' @Rome 2023
Presentation
George Cosmin aka BASM [ born in 1987 ] is a mixed media / street artist and his style of work varies from purely aesthetic to socio-political commentary about the world and all these transposed on canvas with a spray paint and a stencil, on book pages or on banknotes with a brush and acrylic paint, or any other medium that catches his interest. BASM is an artist who has attracted the people's attention with his skills and the message sent by his works, one of the street artists who deserves to watch out for both on the streets and in the gallery, an ascending artist and increasingly sought after by collectors.
