Description
In this painting, I sought to capture the eternal elegance and untamed sensuality of an intimate moment between a man and a woman. Through the interplay of black, white, and red, the composition highlights the dynamic tension of connection. The man, confident and composed, leans toward the tender vulnerability of the woman, whose sensual red lips and her nude body radiate magnetic allure.
The vintage aesthetic of this work is inspired by retro sophistication, evoking a world of classic luxury and chic. It is a sensual dialogue between two figures—a dance of connection, love, touch, and desire.
In creating this piece, I wanted to pay homage to the passion of intimacy and longing: the moment before the desired kiss, the charged space between touch and surrender. The bold and vibrant red serves as a symbol of love, eroticism, and the irresistible pull of human closeness. This is a minimalist expression of romance, brought to life through sharp contrasts influenced by pop art.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
