Description
SERB1107
The painting titled "Freeride" portrays a lively and nostalgic scene of childhood adventure and exploration. Set against a bright summer sky, the artwork captures a moment of excitement and freedom as children engage in outdoor activities. The composition features a small dirt ramp, where a boy at the top prepares to ride his bike down the makeshift trail. His posture reflects confidence and a sense of daring, as he stands on the edge of adventure. In the foreground, two other boys watch intently. One stands upright, hands in his pockets, seemingly admiring the courage of his friend. The other sits on the ground, leaning back in a relaxed pose, taking in the action from a comfortable spot. Nearby, an abandoned bicycle lies in the grass, suggesting that these boys have taken a break from their own rides to observe their friend's stunt. The landscape is rich with color and detail, featuring wildflowers and lush greenery that stretch across the hillside. A tall, slender tree stands prominently in the background, anchoring the scene and adding depth to the composition. The artist's use of bold, textured brushstrokes brings the scene to life, creating a sense of movement and energy in the painting.Through this artwork, the artist captures the essence of childhood freedom, curiosity, and the joy of simple pleasures. The painting evokes a sense of nostalgia, reminding the viewer of carefree summer days spent outdoors, exploring nature, and testing personal limits. The scene highlights themes of friendship, bravery, and the boundless imagination of children. The boy at the top of the ramp represents a spirit of adventure and the courage to take risks, while the observers symbolize support and admiration. The artist's intention seems to be to celebrate the innocence and spontaneity of youth, encouraging the viewer to reconnect with those moments of unfiltered joy and freedom. The painting invites us to remember that life's most cherished experiences often come from embracing adventure, curiosity, and the thrill of new challenges

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
