Description
According to the French Pascal Vilcollet: "In painting, there is the construction phase, which is to learn and assimilate things; and there is this deconstruction phase, where one strips oneself of everything and becomes more sincere." This mantra, the artist applies it, in the context of the exhibition, to the floral still life. It is this classic motif that he deconstructs, returning to the essence of the gesture, on luminous and stripped-down backgrounds, to give birth to poetic and evanescent works.
The organic forms of this work appear to rise, suggesting an upward movement, while the gestural lines add energy and depth. The varied textures and layers of paint add a tactile dimension, enhancing the viewer's visual immersion.
Presentation
Pascal Vilcollet was born in Melun in 1979.
He is a graduate of a training in printing (lithography and offset), a model designer patent and the EPSAA (Higher School of Graphic Arts and Architecture).
Today, he fully exercises an activity as a painter and exhibits his work throughout the world.
He lives and works in Paris.
