Description
SERB 1159
The painting "Roses" captures a timeless and classic subject — a bouquet of roses placed in a white vase. The composition is both elegant and intimate, inviting viewers to appreciate the delicate beauty of flowers, a symbol of love, grace, and fleeting moments of happiness. The bouquet consists of two main shades of roses: bright yellow and soft pink. The warm hues of the petals stand out against the cooler tones of the background, creating a striking contrast that immediately draws attention to the flowers. The artist employs a textured, impasto technique with thick layers of paint, giving the painting a sense of depth and richness. The roses appear almost three-dimensional, their petals seemingly reaching out from the canvas. Each brushstroke is purposeful, highlighting the intricate details of the flowers, from the gentle folds of the petals to the lush green leaves that provide a vibrant base for the bouquet. The white vase is simple in design, allowing the focus to remain on the roses. Its neutral tone serves as a perfect balance to the vivid colors of the flowers, emphasizing their brightness and vitality. The reflection of light on the vase and the subtle shadow cast on the table adds a realistic touch, grounding the scene in reality. The background is a mix of soft purples, blues, and greys, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The abstract quality of the background contrasts with the detailed depiction of the roses, making the bouquet stand out even more. The artist's choice of background colors enhances the overall mood of the painting, evoking a sense of calm and quiet reflection.Through "Roses," the artist aims to convey a message about the beauty of life's simple pleasures. Roses, often associated with love, appreciation, and celebration, remind viewers of the fleeting nature of life's most precious moments. The painting encourages us to pause and appreciate these moments of beauty before they fade away. The vibrant colors and lively brushstrokes reflect the artist's admiration for nature's elegance and the emotional impact that flowers can have on people. The painting exudes warmth, joy, and tenderness, making it a perfect representation of life's delicate and beautiful moments. In conclusion, "Roses" is more than just a still life; it is a celebration of nature's artistry and a reminder to cherish the beauty around us. The artist successfully captures both the visual appeal of the flowers and the emotional resonance they hold, creating a piece that invites viewers to connect with their own feelings of love, gratitude, and appreciation for the simple joys in life.

Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, painting and wood carving instructor, artist-designer.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
