Description
Marlette Ross Napurrurla here celebrates a Dreaming (Jukurrpa) particular to the women (Karnta) who in the Dreamtime went to gather sweet berries in the sacred area of Mina Mina, west of Yuendumu. As the Ancestor women danced, digging sticks emerged from the ground. They picked them up and continued their wanderings, dancing and creating sacred sites - rocks, waterholes, etc. - along their mythical journey.
The concentric circles symbolize the many sacred sites while the colored dots illustrate the profusion of berries in the bush.
Presentation
