Description
Klish 33
Andriy Klishyn's painting "Landscape History" captures the essence of a vast, open space with an expressive interplay of textures and colors. The deep blue sky dominates the upper portion of the composition, conveying a sense of tranquility and timelessness, while the earthy, textured foreground reveals a rugged, untamed landscape. The artist's use of thick, impasto brushstrokes adds depth and movement to the scene, making the land appear rich with history—perhaps bearing the silent traces of past events, natural transformations, or human interactions. The dark, moody tones of the vegetation contrast with the vast, light-filled sky, suggesting a dialogue between the past and present, between nature's resilience and its ever-changing beauty.Through this work, Klishyn evokes a contemplative mood, encouraging viewers to reflect on the hidden narratives embedded in landscapes. It is a reminder that every place carries its own story, shaped by time, weather, and memory, making the painting both a visual and emotional journey into the essence of history etched in nature.
Presentation
Born on February 27, 1958 in the city of Kirovabad, Republic of Azerbaijan. Almost immediately after birth he moved to Eastern Kazakhstan, to the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. Lived there for 15 years, graduated from school and grew up. In 1975 he moved to Crimea, and in 1978 he settled in eastern Ukraine, in the city of Gorlovka. He graduated from the Technical and Economic Institute and worked as an engineer, teacher, and then in the field of insurance, finance and banking. Since May 2014, a forced migrant has been living in Kyiv.
The artist about himself:
“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.
Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.
Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."
The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
