Description
This captivating work features a vibrant floral landscape, dominated by a flamboyant red poppy that stands out in the center. The background is composed of warm, golden hues, evoking a late afternoon light that envelops the scene in an enigmatic atmosphere. The flower stems rise gracefully, ending in blue-tinted buds. The artist uses dynamic brushstrokes of paint to create striking movement and texture, adding depth and life to the composition. The juxtaposition of warm and cool colors accentuates the contrast and draws the eye to the central poppy, a symbol of life and resilience. The work evokes both the ephemeral and enduring beauty of nature at its most vibrant.
Presentation
I've been painting with a knife for about ten years. I used to paint pastels and oils with a brush before turning to this technique. The knife lets me play with textures, paint variations in colour and add dynamism to my creations.
Nature is at the heart of my work. It soothes me. I love painting its undergrowth and its flowers. Its different atmospheres are a huge source of inspiration. My challenge in 2024: to expand my universe by reducing the size of my canvases, and give myself the opportunity to create, on the same theme, a mosaic of paintings that complement and enhance each other. I can capture the depths of a landscape, the light and shade of a narrow path, the delicacy of a flower in small formats, refining my palette knife technique while retaining the palette of colours that characterise me.
I hope to have succeeded in conveying to you in this format all the emotions I feel when I paint: a walk in nature where tranquillity and serenity, in a breath, take us far away from everything.
