Description
AAA3807
This oil painting cardboard, titled "In a summer flower meadow", the composition leads the viewer's eye along a natural pathway through the sunlit meadow, inviting them to wander deeper into the landscape. The open field is filled with delicate wildflowers and tall grasses, creating a sense of movement as if a gentle summer breeze is rustling through the plants. On either side of the meadow, clusters of trees and bushes painted in deep greens and blues frame the scene, providing contrast to the golden hues of the foreground. The background gently fades into soft pastel tones of pink, lavender, and yellow, suggesting a warm, glowing sky at sunrise or sunset. The horizon is slightly blurred, enhancing the sense of depth and distance, making the meadow feel expansive and endless. The artist employs a harmonious blend of warm and cool tones, creating a dynamic yet peaceful balance in the painting. The foreground bursts with golden yellows, soft pinks, and earthy browns, reflecting the vibrant colors of summer wildflowers bathed in sunlight. The trees and foliage contrast with their deeper shades of blue, green, and purple, adding depth and variety to the composition. The sky is painted in delicate pastel hues, with soft yellows and pinks blending into lavender and pale blue, capturing the warmth of the sun's glow and the calmness of the open air. The interplay of light and shadow adds dimension to the scene. The sunlit grasses appear almost golden, while the shaded areas under the trees and bushes provide cool, refreshing contrast. The subtle highlights on the wildflowers and grasses enhance their texture and make them appear almost three-dimensional. The artist uses an impasto technique, applying thick, expressive brushstrokes that create a rich, textured surface. The meadow's wildflowers and grasses are rendered with energetic, dynamic strokes, giving them a lively, windswept feel. The trees and bushes are painted with slightly heavier, more structured strokes, grounding the composition and providing stability amidst the movement of the meadow. The presence of wildflowers in the meadow symbolizes growth, renewal, and the fleeting beauty of nature. The painting captures the essence of summer's gentle rhythm—where time seems to slow down, and the world is filled with color, warmth, and life.

Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, painting and wood carving instructor, artist-designer.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
