Description
This painting depicts a harbor-like urban landscape of a coastal city, dominated by shades of gray and brown. Buildings with aging facades stand out in the background, reflecting historic architecture. The boats moored along the quayside are evocatively rendered with touches of white and ochre, adding a vibrant dimension to the scene. The expressive use of brushwork gives the work a rich texture, capturing the foggy atmosphere typical of northern ports. The reflections in the water add a striking depth, reinforcing the melancholy of the landscape. The monochrome palette emphasizes the sobriety and elegance of the composition. This work stands out for its ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia while revealing the authenticity and serenity of the urban maritime world.
