Description
In this stylish monochrome painting, I capture the timeless spirit of Los Angeles, where the glamour of Hollywood meets the raw energy of an urban cityscape.
This black-and-white painting is defined by the contrast between bold black lines and a white background, creating a sense of movement, while the striking retro-red car adds a touch of classic chic and vintage style.
The palm trees, iconic to California, sway in the heat, their shadows stretching across the street like memories of a bygone era.
The fluid, expressive drips on the canvas bring an element of unpredictability, blurring the line between minimalism and abstract art. Inspired by pop art and the aesthetics of cinema, this piece evokes a scene from an old film, a fleeting moment frozen in time.
The road ahead seems endless, leading toward the ocean, toward possibilities—an invitation to step into the world of retro glamour and the electric pulse of Sunset Boulevard.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
