Description
“Melting Sun in L.A." is my vision of an elegant, semi-abstract urban landscape on a hot summer day in Los Angeles, California.
This minimalist artwork combines elements of pop art, street art, and vintage aesthetics to capture the timeless glamour of Hollywood and the intense heat of California.
The monochrome palette contrasts with the bright red retro car and the melting red sun, whose dripping paint creates an abstract interpretation of the summer heat.
Tall palm trees and the distant ocean behind the car reflect the natural beauty that blends with the city's streets. For me, Los Angeles is a place where classic chic, urban energy, and mystery coexist.
Through this stylish and elegant composition, I explore cinematic contrasts of light and shadow, movement and stillness. This artwork invites the viewer to experience the heat, glamour, and allure of a California summer in a minimalistic and abstract form.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
