Description
This work is a vibrant and satirical expression that blends pop iconography and references to consumerism. On a hundred-dollar bill, Benjamin Franklin's portrait is flanked by playful and ironic elements: provocative writing reading "Money is Funny" and images of money bags with dollar signs. The bill is distorted, as if to symbolize the instability or fluidity of currency value. The decorative details, inspired by a well-known luxury brand, add a layer of social critique to the work. The work explores the absurdity and illusion of wealth, inviting the viewer to reflect on the ephemeral value of money and its representation in modern culture. The bold composition and vibrant colors capture the viewer's attention, making the work a powerful visual commentary on the contemporary era.
Presentation
Modena Roberta was born in Latina on 5 September 1975. Latina is the city of art and history helps to make Roberta grow in love for art and she began to attend art studies as a young girl, finding inspiration in pop artists such as Andy Warhol and Banksy. From these artists, Roberta draws the messages that their works inspire, and from classical art the mystical charm of Caravaggio and Rembrandt.
In the 2000s, she participated in collective exhibitions and events, and her works met with critical acclaim. Her artistic line definitely turns to pop art and with new artistic techniques she expresses herself with new materials and canvas supports. The art of Roberta is in constant evolution
