Description
This artwork is an explosion of color, seamlessly blending deep and vivid hues. The emerald green background serves as a backdrop for stylized flowers, floating freely in space. Shades of orange, pink, and purple give these flowers a striking vitality, contrasting beautifully with the emerald and black tones. Each flower possesses a distinct individuality, playing with varied shapes and textures, adding a dynamic dimension to the whole. The watercolor details infuse the composition with softness and lightness, evoking an enchanted garden in full bloom. The touches of black and abstract silhouettes introduce an intriguing depth, inviting closer contemplation. This painting embodies a celebration of nature, enhanced by boundless creativity and undeniable technical mastery.
Much of Pedro Martínez Marín's (or Mainman's) work is inspired by nature, its beauty and vulnerability, questioning the reasons why human beings repeatedly destroy it.
For this new collection: Spring, Martínez Marín has created a fictional universe—with reminiscences of classical still lifes—where nature and flowers, through their ephemeral existence, recall the brevity of life and the transience of beauty.
The organic series consist of dense, yet coherent, arrangements of ambiguous patterns evoking plant matter or cellular structures…
He experiments with the tension between chaos and control. He pushes boundaries using a highly personal, improvised, and expressive language. He bends the paint with strokes, brushstrokes, and blots that convey a strong emotional content. For Martínez Marín, this process is a catharsis of life, a wild celebration of freedom.
Presentation
MAINMAN (Pedro Martinez Marín) Mainman is an artist born in Barcelona.
Much of her work is inspired by nature, the fragility of its beauty and its vulnerability as a metaphor for the transience of our existence, as nothing is imperishable.
Experience the tension between chaos and control. You get rid of boundaries by using unconventional materials. He feels that he is developing as if he wanted to discover a new beginning with a very personal, improvised and expressive language, also linked to the very concept of modern civilization being questioned. Fold the paint with brushstrokes and smudges that manifest strong emotional content. This process is for Martinez Marin like a catharsis of life, a wild celebration of freedom.
He is interested in human nature, in particular its rejection of the abuse of power. Uses the figure as a means of analyzing or rather researching and challenging contemporary ideas about the racial, sexual or social identity of the community, society, emphasizing the physical reality of the body and above all the importance psychological aspects that determine it.
He currently resides between Barcelona and Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz).
He studied at Eina (Design Grafico. Barcelona 1990-92), Industrial School of Barcelona (Jewellery. 1995-96). Barcelona Academy of Art (Painting and drawing 2017-2019). Alas. (Masters in "Body and Art", Barcelona. 2016-2017).
He is also a certified therapist by the Co-Active Training Institute (San Francisco, USA), Strozzi Institute (San Francisco, USA).
