Description
This captivating artwork features a feminine portrait where beauty and mystery harmoniously intertwine. The figure's piercing, captivating blue eyes immediately capture the viewer's attention, creating a direct connection with the viewer. Her pale face is framed by a cascade of brown hair, elegantly contrasting with the vibrant red roses surrounding it. These flowers, symbols of passion and love, add an expressive and romantic dimension to the composition. The intense red of the lips is reflected in the shawl draped around her shoulders, reinforcing the work's chromatic unity. Subtle touches of purple offer a delicate nuance that enriches the palette. With its balance between boldness and softness, this painting evokes both fragility and strength, captivating the viewer in a world that is both poetic and introspective.
Presentation
Born in 1958, French of Armenian origin, Sylvie PULUR grew up in Marseille. After studying accounting in Paris, she rediscovered her passion for drawing and painting six years ago, after raising four children. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art. A self-taught artist, she uses various techniques such as charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic for her creations on canvas and paper. Her work is distinguished by a subtle play of color contrasts and emotions, inviting meditation and reverie. Her works are unique and imaginary, marked by significant periods of her life.
Sylvie PULUR's works reflect key moments in her life. The series "Les Marines" evokes her arrival in France by boat, with about twenty oil and acrylic paintings influenced by Ivan Aivazovsky's seascapes. Passionate about the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, [he/she] also produced numerous sketches representing women of various origins, inspired by black and white photographs and the works of Tamara de Lempicka and Edward Hopper.
