Description
I created this work to capture the power and depth of a moment of calm before the storm. The acrylic nuances play with the light and movement of the water, expressing both serenity and tension. This piece brings a mysterious and soothing energy to your interior, inviting reflection and escape.
The horizon merges with a dense sky. The material stretches in successive layers. Deep blue dominates the composition. Nuances of turquoise and white evoke the perpetual movement of the water. The acrylic brings a marked texture here. Each stroke suggests the force of a rough sea.
The diamond format dynamizes the visual reading. It breaks the monotony of the classic frame. The light seems to filter through a cloudy veil. The gray and pink tones bring a contemplative softness to the scene. This work is part of a series dedicated to seascapes. The influence of the great masters of marine landscape is felt in the management of contrasts.
The composition invites escape. The gaze travels between the foam and the ether. This ensemble plays on the duality between the stability of the support and the instability of natural elements. The paint is applied with precision to create a tangible relief. The final rendering emphasizes the fluidity of ocean currents.
Presentation
Born in 1958, French of Armenian origin, Sylvie PULUR grew up in Marseille. After studying accounting in Paris, she rediscovered her passion for drawing and painting six years ago, after raising four children. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art. A self-taught artist, she uses various techniques such as charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic for her creations on canvas and paper. Her work is distinguished by a subtle play of color contrasts and emotions, inviting meditation and reverie. Her works are unique and imaginary, marked by significant periods of her life.
Sylvie PULUR's works reflect key moments in her life. The series "Les Marines" evokes her arrival in France by boat, with about twenty oil and acrylic paintings influenced by Ivan Aivazovsky's seascapes. Passionate about the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, [he/she] also produced numerous sketches representing women of various origins, inspired by black and white photographs and the works of Tamara de Lempicka and Edward Hopper.
