Description
This artwork unfolds through flowing forms and delicate textures, evoking a quiet sense of movement and fluidity. A restrained palette, gently accented with hints of gold, creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow. Soft curves ripple across the surface like windswept dunes or distant waves, drawing the viewer into a tranquil, dreamlike space.
At the same time, the piece offers something deeply personal. It captures the quiet rhythm of time and the breath of nature at rest. As light moves across the surface, new textures emerge—like thoughts that surface when we finally slow down. It invites you to pause. To breathe. To notice the beauty that lives in the in-between.
This is a painting to revisit when life feels loud, inviting contemplation while holding both stillness and energy in perfect harmony.
Medium: Acrylic, micaceous pigments, and sand on Yupo
Presentation: Framed in black fiberboard with a white mount. Shipped flat.
Presentation
Francesca Borgo (b. 1970) is an Italian abstract painter whose practice investigates liminal thresholds — the spaces between erosion and emergence, stillness and movement, self and other. Working with layered combinations of acrylic, sand, and mineral pigments, she creates atmospheric surfaces that evoke glaciers, mist, sedimented terrains, and states of emotional transition.
Her work is informed by a background in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, grounding her visual language in an exploration of perception, authenticity, and the subtle ways we grow and open ourselves to others while remaining rooted in who we are. Her paintings function as meditative thresholds, inviting viewers into a slower encounter with presence.
Borgo has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, the United States, and recently Asia. Her work was shown at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (London, 2022), and she has presented multiple solo booths at The Other Art Fair (Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Dallas). Additional presentations include the Affordable Art Fair New York, and the Incheon Art Show in South Korea.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe, North America, and Asia. She lives and works in Treviso, Italy.
