Description
This vibrant artwork is a dynamic expression of motion and color, characterized by bold, swirling strokes and splatters of paint. Energetic lines of turquoise, red, yellow, and green intersect and overlap, creating a sense of chaos and spontaneity. The thick application of paint adds texture, inviting the viewer to appreciate its tactile quality. The composition is unstructured yet harmonious, with each color standing out vividly against the white background. This piece challenges traditional forms by embracing an unrestrained and expressive style, evoking a sense of freedom and creative liberation. The juxtaposition of smooth and jagged edges gives the work depth and dimension, making it not just visually striking but also emotionally resonant. It embodies the essence of abstract expressionism, capturing the viewer's imagination and encouraging personal interpretation.
Presentation
Emma Donaldson is self taught artist who has attended classes at Attenborough Arts in Leicester and Roof Top Arts in Corby. She has been profoundly affected by the impact that her work has had on herself and other people.
Emma would define herself as a Textural Abstract Artist. She has exhibited paintings in Cank Street Gallery Leicester, Ten2 Gallery Leicestershire, Roof Top Gallery in Corby and The Millennium Gallery Sheffield. She has work displayed in DMU and her private collectors include other artists, photographers and academics. Further she has a piece in the Museum of Bad Art in Boston, Massachusetts. These textured pieces are on canvas stretched over a wooden frame. They are light and ready to hang.
This artist has wanted to be a Dadaist since she saw Barry Humphries with a wellington boot full of custard. With this in mind she wrote a surreal play in Spanish entitled La Vida Local. This is completely unintelligible to anyone particularly the Spanish. She is also a life model at Universities and Art Groups.
