This captivating work depicts an underwater scene in which a human figure gracefully dives to the bottom. The slender figure, wrapped in a vibrant red swimsuit, stands out vividly against the deep blue of the aquatic background. Delicate schools of fish, painted with touches of white and silver, surround the diver, creating a circular movement that evokes a harmonious aquatic dance. The abstract shapes of the black rocks contrast with the soft, flowing hues of the water, adding an intriguing depth to the composition. The color palette, dominated by earthy browns and soothing blues, reinforces the serene yet dynamic atmosphere. This painting invites the viewer to explore the mysteries of the underwater world in a simultaneously realistic and stylized representation. Each element contributes to the harmonious balance of the work, making this scene fascinating and unforgettable.

"In Japanese folklore, there is a half-human, half-fish creature called Ningyo. In some depictions, horns are seen on its head. In the past, it was described as having a human torso, a monkey's mouth with fish teeth, a fish tail with golden scales, and a sweet voice that sounded a bit like the sound of a flute or the song of a swallow."
