Description
This striking work presents a portrait in disordered strokes, marked by the bold use of white lines against a dramatic black background. The face, although blurred by a tangle of features, emerges clearly, captivating the eye with piercing blue eyes. The individual wears a pensive expression, accentuated by a hand supporting the chin. Above his head, a stylized yellow crown, composed of triangular shapes, symbolizes a modern and quirky royalty. This contrast between the chaotic complexity of the features and the geometric simplicity of the crown creates a powerful visual tension. The work evokes both innocence and majesty, while exploring themes of identity and power. The graphic style, inspired by graffiti, lends a raw and spontaneous energy to the whole, vividly engaging the viewer in a reflection on representation and individuality.
Presentation
Ayoka Zahir is a contemporary painter, born in 1982 in Laon. He developed an early passion for art, spending many hours drawing from a young age.
His emergence as an artist is relatively a second life for him. Indeed, after obtaining his secondary school diploma, he embarked on a long career in the banking sector, occupying positions of responsibility within the Trading Rooms of Ecobank, Société Générale and BNP.
His passion for art resurfaced during the Covid pandemic in 2020.
He started drawing again, then those close to him (especially his colleagues) pushed him to paint and graffiti. Almost like a revelation, this experience gives him the opportunity to explore his talent and perfect his skills. Through his natural curiosity, he began to develop different identities, which result in an eclectic artistic universe.
Each personality could be a different signature. Before starting to exhibit her work, Ayoka Zahir had already sold around fifty of her works. An absolute fan of Star Wars, the artist remained anonymous for a long time to his collectors. Indeed, Ayoka Zahir delivered her works with a Darth Vader mask.
