This painting is my take on a dreamy, peaceful lily pond — the kind of place where sunlight hits just right and everything feels calm and magical.
I used pastel shades and vibrant purples to capture the magic of early twilight.
I played with pastel shades and rich purples to give it that otherworldly feel, where everything is bathed in golden glow.
The lilies are just floating there, relaxed and unbothered, while little petals drift around like nature's confetti.
I wanted it to feel calm but full of life — like one of those quiet, beautiful moments you never forget.

Artist statement
Ever since I was a child, I have always admired the beautiful water lilies blooming in muddy ponds. And this admiration is seen in my artworks.
My work explores the relationship between reality and the imagination of the viewer. It involves lots of color layers and textures and is influenced by a touch of contemporary form. I trust my inner voice and allow it to guide me through the creative process.
Hi, I'm Amita; a self-taught artist from Hubli, India. I always wanted to pursue art because that would make me feel content. But I ended up doing engineering and subsequently a corporate job.
What started off as a hobby close to my heart, turned into a part of my daily life when I quit my corporate job back in 2010.
My deep admiration for Claude Monet has been a constant source of inspiration in my artistic journey. One of my greatest passion is painting water lilies and lotuses, which allows me to connect with the beauty of nature in its purest form.
My art practice is a journey of self-discovery, fueled by my admiration for Monet's work, and characterized by a willingness to surrender to the creative flow. When I approach my canvas, I go with the flow, letting my instincts and emotions guide my hand. My brush strokes are loose, capturing the fluidity of the water and delicate curves of water lily flowers.
This allows me to convey the emotional essence of my subject. I trust my inner voice and this connection between my inner thoughts and the canvas results in pieces that are not only visually striking but also resonate with authenticity. I aim to share my unique perspective and invite viewers to experience the serene beauty of nature through my eyes.
My paintings have been collected across the UK, USA, Australia, Sweden, France, Dubai, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Netherland and India and hope to add more to the list.
