Description
This bold work features a female figure with an introspective gaze, positioned at the center of a dynamic composition. The bright pink background accentuates the subject's pensive expression, while her pink hair lends a unique whimsy. The figure is adorned with bold textiles, creating an interesting juxtaposition between the soft textures and the vibrant leopard print on her garment. The crocheted elements add a tactile dimension, introducing an unexpected coziness. The green pendants suspended above seem to frame the protagonist, reinforcing the canvas's visual balance. The simplified facial features blend harmoniously with the exuberance of the colors and materials, illustrating a fusion of abstraction and figuration. This compelling piece evokes both robustness and delicacy, inviting the viewer to contemplate the duality of the figure and the harmony of the artistic elements that compose it.
Presentation
Patricia Simsa is a French painter, born in Paris in 1961.
Patricia Simsa is a multidisciplinary artst and doesn't focus her research on only one medium, initially she began with sculpture and then turned towards painting.
Her wild and joyful paintings are an invitation to enter her world filled with humor and love. Her favorite motif is women, or the image of the woman. Patricia Simsa's works intrigue, amuse, and manage to create complicity between the spectator and the characters.
She uses bright colours with thick strokes, the outcome is very poetic and highlights precision and harmony in her work, who leaves nothing to chance.
Patricia Simsa is a self-taught artist. Her first personal exhibition was in 1992 and she has done several since in Europe.
