Description
A generous silhouette dominates the center of a deep blue background. The black line, assured and fluid, draws a face with stylized features. The gaze is mischievous. The lips, a bright red, provide a sharp contrast with the rosy complexion of the skin.
The figure holds a white cup containing dark coffee. This daily gesture anchors the scene in a calm intimacy. The dress is a meticulous assembly of floral patterns and varied textures. Touches of white and pink are observed mixed with blue geometric details.
On each side, oblong and dark shapes seem to float, rhythmized by pink dots. These elements bring visual balance to the composition. A green polka-dot bag is discreetly noticed on the right side. The color palette plays on the opposition between the coldness of the background and the warmth of the skin tones. This painting explores simplicity with a graphic and modern approach. The whole is characterized by a harmony of saturated colors and a flat rendering that emphasizes the two-dimensionality of the support.

Patricia Simsa is a French painter, born in Paris in 1961.
Patricia Simsa is a multidisciplinary artst and doesn't focus her research on only one medium, initially she began with sculpture and then turned towards painting.
Her wild and joyful paintings are an invitation to enter her world filled with humor and love. Her favorite motif is women, or the image of the woman. Patricia Simsa's works intrigue, amuse, and manage to create complicity between the spectator and the characters.
She uses bright colours with thick strokes, the outcome is very poetic and highlights precision and harmony in her work, who leaves nothing to chance.
Patricia Simsa is a self-taught artist. Her first personal exhibition was in 1992 and she has done several since in Europe.
