With Abstraction Concrète 156, Gaëlle Wagner explores a territory where painting becomes a perceptive experience before being an image. Here, the landscape—perhaps a shore, a summer horizon, or the light of twilight—is no longer represented, but felt. The markers of reality fade to give way to a colorful vibration where yellow and blue intermingle, like two vital forces in constant dialogue.
This approach finds a direct echo in the thought of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, philosopher of perception. For him, seeing is never a purely intellectual act: it is an embodied experience, an exchange between the body and the world. Perception is not a faithful reproduction of reality, but a co-creation between the subject and their environment. In Wagner's work, this idea takes shape through the dissolution of the motif: the viewer does not observe something, they are invited to experience the painting. The surface of the painting becomes a space of encounter—a field of sensations where the eye circulates, immerses itself, loses itself, and finds itself again.
Added to this phenomenological dimension is a resonance with the thought of Henri Bergson. For Bergson, reality is movement, flux, and duration—what he calls the vital impulse. This principle describes life as a creative energy, in perpetual transformation. Concrete Abstraction 156 embodies this idea in its very materiality: each drop, each burst of color seems to capture a fraction of this continuous movement, an instant of this energy that animates matter. Nothing is fixed; everything seems to vibrate, as if the canvas were breathing to the rhythm of the world.
By combining these two approaches—Merleau-Ponty's embodied perception and Bergson's vital dynamics—Gaëlle Wagner goes beyond simple formal abstraction. Her work questions our relationship to reality: no longer as an image to be reproduced, but as an experience to be lived.
Thus, Concrete Abstraction 156 is not a representation of the landscape, but an exploration of what it means to perceive it—a dialogue between the gaze, color, and consciousness, where abstraction becomes the very language of the living.

Presentation
Gaëlle Wagner is a best-selling French painter to follow in the coming years.
Through her exhibitions, captivating performances and international sales, she reveals her artistic soul to the world, letting her compositions speak for her.
His works are collected both in France and abroad (United States, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, England, etc.)
Born in 1984 in Strasbourg, she developed a pronounced taste for art from a very young age. In middle school and then in high school, she became passionate about visual arts classes and photography. She draws regularly in her free time with a friend with whom they develop this common passion.
As a young adult, she continued to train at the Beaux-Arts in Strasbourg and at the Esad in Orléans in film photography and drawing. She visits museums and contemporary art exhibitions.
Since then, inspired by photographic composition, she has continued to develop a unique artistic language, balancing harmony and energy, emotions and abstraction, and thus revealing herself in abstract expressionism.
Wagner has been exhibiting regularly for around fifteen years in several French cities including Paris, Strasbourg, Nancy, Orléans, on the Atlantic coast and in the Center Val de Loire region, where she also performs live in front of the public.
An emerging artist, she captures the essence of abstract expressionism with profound sincerity.
His talent transcends the boundaries of traditional art, and continues to inspire and amaze with every brushstroke.
