Description
Simone De Rosa's is a striking fusion of luxury branding and pop art nostalgia. With confident strokes and a vivid palette, De Rosa reimagines the iconic Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle, cloaked in an electrifying green hue that subverts its traditional elegance and injects it with bold, contemporary energy.
At the center of the composition, a Lichtenstein-inspired female figure—rendered in the artist's signature illustrative style—emerges through the label, merging classic comic book aesthetics with high fashion iconography. This interplay of influences is a hallmark of De Rosa's visual language, seamlessly blending consumer culture with fine art in a manner that is both playful and provocative.
The artwork pays homage to Roy Lichtenstein while asserting a distinct voice—commenting on commodification, identity, and the enduring allure of brand mythology. The piece is meticulously executed, featuring thick black outlines, vibrant color blocking, and a textured background that subtly contrasts the polished central figure.
Ideal for collectors of contemporary pop art and lovers of modern visual commentary, is more than a tribute—it's a bold statement piece that captures the zeitgeist of modern consumerism through the lens of iconic artistry.
Presentation
Simone De Rosa, born in 1977, is a self-taught Italian Pop art artist who took his first steps as a Pop Art artist.
He started drawing and painting from an early age, at the same time she was also inspired by comics and attended the Roman school of comics in Rome, Italy. Definitely modern painting.
Strong, vibrant colors with large spray can brush strokes and large, contrasting color patches. He is focused on the impression. The painting must dominate the interior and attract attention, all his paintings are made on canvas. He likes to work on medium sizes, ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 meters or more, and often uses items such as shop mannequins and bowling pins.
He usually uses acrylic paints accompanied by different techniques, especially when creating collages. Simone De Rosa draws inspiration from his urban environments such as street art, cartoons, celebrity icons, advertising and brend in order to make his works of art unique and attractive even to the less skilled in art. Currently his works are becoming more and more popular, they are now in private collections in Europe and the United States.
