Description
This striking artwork blends Cubist elements with a Surrealist approach. At its center, a stylized face with geometric features commands attention, surrounded by mysterious symbols. A skull rests on a pedestal, evoking a memento mori, while a potted green plant breaks the rigidity of the scene with its organic form. The composition is enriched by colorful geometric shapes, such as a red typewriter and a floating drawer, lending an unexpected dynamism. The background features blurred pastel hues, adding depth to the whole. An orange circle provides a vivid contrast, while a square subtly frames part of the work, emphasizing the harmony of the composition. This juxtaposition of traditional and modern elements creates a painting that stimulates reflection and imagination, demonstrating the artist's skill in merging different styles to form an intriguing work.
Presentation
Nestled in the heart of the vibrant city of Sète, Flavien Couche is emerging as a promising figure in the contemporary art scene. His work, imbued with creative energy and freedom of expression, recalls the heyday of Figuration Libre and neo-surrealism while bringing a fresh, modern feel.
After studying visual communication and graduating in Fine Arts in 2005, he began exhibiting at various contemporary art fairs in Paris.
Inspired by Surrealism and German Expressionism, Flavien Couche uses color as a powerful tool to transcend emotion and sensualize forms. His paintings, characterized by refined, intertwined shapes, evoke a gentle explosion for the viewer's eye—a visual "big bang" that captivates and intrigues.
Don't miss the opportunity to discover his work and let yourself be carried away by the strength and beauty of his works.
