Description
This hybrid work, blending abstract and figurative expression, is Jean Claude ByandB's exploration of the theme of women and abstraction. This woman is no longer an object but becomes a subject, represented in this watercolor. It prompts reflection on the role of the image and the meaning it evokes in the viewer.
Presentation
Jean-Claude ByandB is a French artist born in 1949 who lives and works in Saint Cyr sur Loire in France. His artistic research was mainly influenced by the 1960s. Characterized by a feeling of both faith and anger, the 60s generated an explosion of extremely exciting and spectacular avant-garde ideologies and movements. On the one hand, the astronomical discoveries of those years impacted positively the whole world. On the other hand, they were years historically set in the context of the Cold War, largely defined by the Iron Curtain that divided Europe both physically and spiritually, and significantly marked by the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961.
