Description
This artwork is an explosion of bold colors and textures. The painting presents a striking juxtaposition of deep red and electric blue, creating a powerful contrast. The shades of red, with touches of black, appear to shift, evoking flames or an ethereal mist. The vibrant blue in the background adds a mysterious depth, drawing the eye toward the dark center. A rich, granular texture gives the canvas a tactile and vibrant dimension. The abstract patterns suggest imagined landscapes or intense emotions, inviting personal interpretation. The artist masterfully balances chaos and harmony, using vivid colors to convey a palpable energy. This painting encourages reflection and introspection, captivating viewers with its expressive power.
Presentation
Born in East Germany to a musician father and an undisclosed sculptor mother, I grew up with five siblings. Culture and, more specifically, music, was our daily nourishment.
The free spirit of the artists was little appreciated, often reduced to silence because overheard. I learned early on to read body language and faces.
Do the face and its expressions reflect the identity of the being? Do they trace its history? Unraveling this complexity is the deep thread of my work.
Even if sketches, drawings and readings precede my work, nothing seems to pre-exist the creation. Everything is revealed in the moment of the act and arises from the material that I have chosen. But a prerequisite is necessary: an initial vacuum.
E. Levinas “The truth of unveiling is at most the truth of the phenomenon hidden under appearances. The truth of the thing in itself does not reveal itself. The thing in itself expresses itself………
The signifier must therefore present itself before any sign, by itself – present a face. »
