Description
This captivating artwork juxtaposes a stylized airplane, ridden by a little girl engrossed in a book, with a world map background, symbolizing escape and discovery. The child, seated on the airplane, embodies innocence and imagination, immersed in a story that defies boundaries. Golden stars add a touch of dreaminess and wonder. On the left, a depiction of the Little Prince, an iconic literary character, reinforces the theme of quest and exploration. The inscribed quote, "It's so mysterious, the land of tears," evokes profound emotions and the inherent mystery of childhood. The bold use of collage and chromatic contrasts highlights the duality between reality and imagination, making the work both mysterious and fascinating. It is a poetic invitation to dream and travel beyond tangible limits.
Presentation
Self-taught, Maxime Andriot painted from a young age. He began to paint landscapes of his region first and had his first exhibition at the age of 16. Subsequently, he will experiment with different techniques, oil, acrylic, pastel, aerosol and different media. He has many inspirational subjects such as portraiture and cityscape, but his favorite subject remains the cartoons of his childhood to which he likes to give bright and electric colors.
