Description
Immersed in a mystical aura, this contemporary work depicts a majestic angelic figure, dressed in classical drapery, holding an olive branch in her right hand, which accentuates the symbolism of peace and reconciliation.
The wings, with their imposing span, add a celestial and powerful dimension to the composition. Finely detailed, they symbolize power and protection, evoking a divine and benevolent presence. The bold choice of colors—shades of deep blue, violet, and pink—juxtaposes the solemnity of the figure against a background adorned with geometric patterns. These patterns, resembling tiles or mosaics, infuse the work with an unexpected modernity, establishing a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.
Light seems to emanate from the angel, creating a play of light and shadow that accentuates the sculptural details of the work. The artist has meticulously crafted the angel's attire, the folds of whose robe appear almost tangible thanks to a skillfully orchestrated interplay of light and shadow. The angel's serene yet commanding posture, with its penetrating gaze, immediately captures the viewer's attention.
The balance between formal rigor and chromatic expressiveness lends this painting a presence that is both mystical and earthly, allowing for a rich and multidimensional interpretation. This harmonious blend of techniques and symbolism gives the work a captivating visual presence, inviting prolonged contemplation and reflection on the eternal themes of spirituality, protection, and peace. It is a piece that not only adorns a space but also commands attention, engaging the soul and mind in a mesmerizing visual dance, a reflection on spirituality and aesthetics.
Presentation
Véronique Baleste, a native of the Bassin d’Arcachon, is an artist whose career is marked by a deep quest for meaning and expression. After studying sociology and a career in teaching, she allowed a long-buried passion to emerge: painting. For sixteen years, this practice has become a vital necessity for her, an intimate language, a way of feeling and celebrating life in all its richness.
About her artTo paint to exist For her, painting is a vital act. It is her way of breathing, of feeling, of saying the unspeakable. Each canvas is an exploration of her being, an attempt to capture the intensity of a moment, an emotion, a fragment of truth.
The human at the core She paints portraits because she paints the human being. Each face is a story, a unique vibration. Through her works, she seeks to reveal the soul behind the features, to celebrate the raw and authentic beauty of our humanity.
A free and lively techniqueAcrylic is her ally. Its fast drying time allows her to work in successive layers, to superimpose materials, to give way to instinct. She mixes in stencils, collages, textures, to enrich her paintings with a tactile and vibrant dimension.
The inspiration of Street art Street art transforms the city into an open gallery. It inspires her with its spontaneity, its expressive force, and its accessibility. She transposes this raw energy into her work, in search of an art that dialogues with the world.
Writing as an inner voiceText has imposed itself in her canvases as a parallel voice. First through quotations, then through her own words, it becomes a breath, a whisper, a scream. It adds a layer of meaning, an inner voice that prolongs the pictorial gesture.
Painting and transmitting A teacher at heart, an artist out of necessity, she builds bridges between these two vocations. As in the classroom, she seeks to awaken, to make people resonate. Each work is a life lesson, a sharing of emotions, an invitation to reflection.
