Description
This artwork presents a playful and satirical scene featuring a popular figure lounging on a mattress of banknotes floating in a swimming pool. With his top hat and smug grin, he embodies the stereotype of opulent wealth. In the background, a lavish mansion symbolizes luxury and prosperity. The contrast between the vibrant hues of the sky and the architectural elements accentuates the comical and surreal atmosphere. The three damaged wooden planks that serve as the canvas lend a raw and ephemeral quality to the work, adding a critical dimension to the perception of capitalism. The inscription "WØ$H" reinforces the ironic message. This artwork challenges with its implicit critique of conspicuous wealth while simultaneously captivating attention with its bold graphic style and humor.
Presentation
Wosh is a self-taught Brussels artist. It was as a teenager that he discovered a passion for graffiti and street arts. After several years of learning, he decided to take a step forward and paint on canvas.
He discovered the masters of pop art such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Basquiat, etc. It was a real revelation for him which launched the beginning of his work.
In constant search of new materials, new ideas, he constantly explores. Spray paint, posca, acrylic, epoxy resin, collage... on wood, on canvas, on cardboard, on dollars... Each piece is unique.
