Description
This elegantly simple landscape captures the essence of tranquil nature. The artist uses soft tones and fluid brushstrokes to evoke a scene where trees and earth meet in perfect harmony. Shades of green and brown suggest the subtle changing seasons, while a light, hazy sky adds an ethereal depth to the composition. The work is distinguished by its ability to convey a palpable serenity and a sense of natural balance, inviting the viewer to contemplate the quiet beauty of the outside world. The slightly elevated perspective offers a soothing panoramic view, making this canvas an invitation to escape and reflection. This art is a subtle and delicate homage to the peaceful magnificence of landscapes, blending abstraction and realism in a captivating and thoughtful way.

• 2014: The Bernheim-Jeune gallery in Paris presents his works.
• 2016: Evelyne Widmaier becomes a permanent artist at the Bernheim-Jeune gallery.
A member of the Société des Artistes Français for 35 years, she has also been a member of the Taylor Foundation since 2009 and of the Salon d'Automne in Paris since 2014. “Painting is my mode of expression. I feel completely free with colors; I play with them. I paint at home, with the daylight coming from the left, listening to Bach, Brahms, or Schubert. I forget everything I know, and that's where I constantly discover. I like to build, deconstruct, apply the material, scrape it, manipulate it, until the canvas suddenly comes alive with its own life."
The subject doesn't matter. It's about bringing life and its contrasts back to life—air, space, light, movement—with a few colors and a brush on a linen canvas. Perhaps trivial, but so invigorating!
