Description
In The Sky Above Our Home, Plotnikov portrays the sky as a space of freedom and contemplation. Clouds become the true protagonists of his canvases: in perpetual motion, they transcend borders, places, and seasons. The works depict diverse locations, from the Arctic and the Far East to the Côte d'Azur, Mont Saint-Michel, and Compiègne, all united under the same expanse of sky.
Through this recurring motif, the artist evokes both the unity of the world and the fragility of human existence. Variations of light, soft or radiant, cool or golden, convey subtle emotions: serenity, nostalgia, wonder. His clouds seem to float on the surface of the canvas, hovering between figuration and abstraction, revealing nature's ability to inspire peace and a sense of the sublime.
This series is a silent meditation on harmony between humankind and the world, on beauty, transience, and the invisible thread that connects us all beneath the same sky.
