Description

To look at a memory under a microscope, to observe how grief settles, stratifies, and leaves traces: this work is an investigation into what endures.

As always, each canvas is born from a line of verse, but this time it comes from an infinite poem. Words open a space; colour inhabits it. A single spalter brush, pigments mixed directly on the canvas.

In this series, I paint the residual matter of memories: what remains once the event has dissolved. Opaque zones, transparencies, and blooms of colour rising to the surface. As if emotion, placed under a microscope, revealed its most intimate structure.

This series explores the infinitesimal, the almost invisible: understanding how pain is composed, how it organizes itself, and how it can sometimes grow lighter through sustained looking. With this infinite series, I wanted to undertake a phenomenological and material study of grief, letting time work quietly in the background, with age, layered memories, and lived experience.

Presentation

Margaux Salvador explores the dialogue between poetry and painting from her studio in the Paris region. A self-taught artist, she has been painting since 2021, driven by a deep fascination for the evocative power of colors. Her choice of painting came naturally, particularly for the fluidity of the medium and its ability to work in transparency - technical qualities that allow her a meticulous exploration of chromatic harmonies.

His training in sociology and political communication has given him a keen awareness of the power of words and the construction of discourse. This intimacy with language now finds a natural extension in his artistic practice, where text and image respond to each other in an ongoing conversation.

Her creative method follows a precise process: each series is born from an initial poem, each painting of which becomes a visual stanza, translating the rhythm and images of the text into colors and shapes. For Margaux Salvador, painting extends the act of writing - the brush becomes the extension of the pen, the pictorial material embodies the very substance of words. Her works thus create spaces where poetic language takes shape, transforming into interior landscapes where abstraction opens the way to a new form of visual narration.

In this practice where poetry and painting respond to and enrich each other lies the essence of his artistic research. Each new series deepens this exploration of a territory where the arts meet, where creation becomes an act of constant dialogue between word and image.
