The gallery presents a unique work by Lasveguix, where matter becomes language and tearing, an aesthetic manifesto.
In an intimate format of 46 x 55 cm, the artist composes a vibrant universe around the icon of Snoop Dogg, a mythical figure in hip-hop and pop culture. The work is constructed by layering torn posters, revealing a powerful visual narrative layer by layer.
Each tear reveals a fragment:
silhouettes of cat women, feline and enigmatic female characters,
figures with Western overtones, mysterious shadows emerging from an urban Wild West,
Torn typography, partially revealed faces, raw and vibrant textures.
Lasveguix's work highlights the torn poster aspect with a remarkable wealth of detail:

contrasts between the violence of the gesture and the precision of the collage
The work oscillates between street art, underground aesthetics, and contemporary elegance. The apparent chaos of the tears interacts with a controlled composition, offering multiple interpretations depending on the angle and the light.

Presentation
Guillaume Picart, known as Lasveguix, is a French artist from Seine-Saint-Denis, who began his artistic career as a graffiti artist under the pseudonym of Guix along the Canal de l'Ourcq, when he was teenager. After a break in artistic creation, he returned to his passion in 2022 and is currently working on the production of numerous works in various media, mainly inspired by the influence of pop art.
Lasveguix is directly inspired by Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains, and uses photographs of famous faces as well as torn posters to create his paintings. He then covers these supports with graffiti and splashes of paint, which gives life to colorful and powerful works, reminiscent of sections of urban walls torn from the street.
His artistic signature is based on his ability to give relief and volume to his paintings. He cultivates a real taste for the texture and material of torn paper, thus creating an impression of movement, by superimposing successive layers of paper.
