Description
This artwork is distinguished by its bold use of color and texture. It features a canvas dominated by horizontal blocks of charcoal black, with subtly textured abstract patterns that create an intriguing depth. A central and disruptive element is the bright red diagonal line that traverses the scene. This dynamic line contrasts sharply with the dark background and immediately draws the viewer's eye. The tension between the verticality of this red line and the horizontality of the black forms creates a harmonious visual balance. The work explores the interplay between stability and movement, evoking a reflection on duality and opposition. This marriage of contrast and harmony makes this piece a decidedly modern and unforgettable work.
Presentation
Michele Sala is a self-taught painter born in Toulon in 1948.
She began a career as a civil servant working for the Ministry of Finance and it was only after she divorced that she focused on her passion, painting.
She made her first paintings and, encouraged by a friend, she participated in a first exhibition in Caen, where she lives now. She received a strong support which encouraged her to continue.
Michele Sala paints with acrylics in three colors: red, black and white. Her paintings, of abstract style are arranged in diptych or triptych.
"I like my paintings to interact with each other, she says. It is contemporary painting, an aesthetic research that reflects my thoughts, dreams and emotions. "
