Description
This artwork is mesmerizing in its monochrome simplicity. Composed of horizontal bands, it juxtaposes dark textures and patterns, creating an intriguing visual interplay. The linear and diagonal imprints subtly capture the light, offering varied reflections depending on the viewing angle. The complexity lies in the harmony between the shades of black, which overlap without ever merging. The artist demonstrates an exceptional mastery of depth and contrast, inviting the viewer to explore the minute details. The piece evokes a mysterious and meditative atmosphere, allowing for introspective interpretation. This somber painting finds its strength in the perfect balance between abstraction and sophistication, captivating and stimulating the viewer's imagination.
Presentation
Michele Sala is a self-taught painter born in Toulon in 1948.
She began a career as a civil servant working for the Ministry of Finance and it was only after she divorced that she focused on her passion, painting.
She made her first paintings and, encouraged by a friend, she participated in a first exhibition in Caen, where she lives now. She received a strong support which encouraged her to continue.
Michele Sala paints with acrylics in three colors: red, black and white. Her paintings, of abstract style are arranged in diptych or triptych.
"I like my paintings to interact with each other, she says. It is contemporary painting, an aesthetic research that reflects my thoughts, dreams and emotions. "
