Description
Little is known about its origins. Some claim it's a Charente snail, disillusioned by the emptiness of its kind's existence, most of whom have no horizon beyond the wasteland where they were born.
It was only in the winter of 2025 that this strange animal, named Bigorlithos, was discovered. A gastropod, it was charmingly named, a contraction of periwinkle—which it's roughly the same size as—and the Greek word lithos—stone, gem. For this creature has an extraordinary characteristic: it eats pebbles. How? Thanks to its silvery slime, the exact composition of which researchers are still struggling to understand. This viscous liquid dissolves pebbles into multicolored flakes that the voracious creature eagerly devours.
Bigorlithos also possesses some unusual attributes: a short, twisted horn, luminous antennae, and a fluorescent pink shell that would make Véronique and Davina green with envy. But of course, these features aren't just for show. They serve a real purpose: the horn is used for digging, the antennae for lighting up, and the shell simply for attracting attention in social situations.
Science is too limited to say much more about this fantastic animal. Except that it is extremely rare—perhaps even the last of its kind—since only one individual has been observed to date.
While we know nothing about its reproductive methods or musical tastes, we do know that it has another truly interesting characteristic: it's phosphorescent! Something to delight little eyes...
Discover here an artistic yet faithful representation of the beast, at a 10:1 scale.
Presentation
KOA is the alias of Ophélie Simonet, a self-taught artist, born in 1987 in La Rochelle, who shakes up brushes and minds from her HQ in Vendée.
Her world? A dopamine hit of pop culture, humor, nostalgia, and graphics. Touched by a rare form of synesthesia (ordinal-linguistic personification), the artist cultivates an atypical visual and creative sensibility.
Alongside his , KOA decided in 2024 to come out of the woodwork. Painting is his form of freedom and authenticity, his playground, his antidote to the monotony of everyday life and the monochrome of the era.
His work is a modern and delicious blend of colors combined with powerful contrasts. His unashamedly naive style breaks academic codes and celebrates the infancy of art.
Designed with a playful approach, its collectible pieces (such as figurines, toys, images, etc.) promise to revive disenchanted generations and inject a dose of fun into any wall.
