Description
Against a vibrant, almost electric background, a saturated violet pulses like a starlit night. The surface seems alive, studded with small white and dark splashes, like a fine rain frozen in time.
At the center, a raw, almost primitive black silhouette emerges with a presence that is both fragile and magnetic. Its body is compact, irregular, as if drawn in an instinctive, unfiltered gesture. Around it, a crown of white and lilac lines stirs, evoking untamed hair or a vibrant aura, as if energy were overflowing from all sides.
The eyes, wide and slightly off-center, immediately capture the gaze. They oscillate between innocence and surprise, as if caught in a suspended moment—between curiosity and a gentle incomprehension of the world. A few simple features suggest an almost childlike face, while slender legs awkwardly support this strange presence.
On the left, a dark shape stretches out, blurred, like a shadow or a silent double, adding a subtle tension to the scene.
The whole thing exudes a raw spontaneity, a discreet humor, but also a certain melancholy — like a character lost in a universe too vast for him, yet vibrating with an almost joyful energy.
Presentation
KOA is the alias of Ophélie Simonet, a self-taught artist, born in 1987 in La Rochelle, who shakes up brushes and minds from her HQ in Vendée.
Her world? A dopamine hit of pop culture, humor, nostalgia, and graphics. Touched by a rare form of synesthesia (ordinal-linguistic personification), the artist cultivates an atypical visual and creative sensibility.
Alongside his , KOA decided in 2024 to come out of the woodwork. Painting is his form of freedom and authenticity, his playground, his antidote to the monotony of everyday life and the monochrome of the era.
His work is a modern and delicious blend of colors combined with powerful contrasts. His unashamedly naive style breaks academic codes and celebrates the infancy of art.
Designed with a playful approach, its collectible pieces (such as figurines, toys, images, etc.) promise to revive disenchanted generations and inject a dose of fun into any wall.
