Description
"There are times when you don't want your eyes to see and your ears to hear… When those terrible things happen around you, all you need is a safe touch, a connection to someone who shares the same feelings and can be relied on."
This work is a part of the “Inverted" series reflecting the war in Ukraine. The dots behind the subjects on the painting are a message in Braille's language, which highlights the unarticulated emotions and unsaid grief.

Presentation
Tania Potapenko is a contemporary figurative artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work explores the emotional layers of human experience beneath composed exteriors, focusing on moments of inner tension, doubt, and vulnerability expressed through portraiture.
Working primarily with oil and acrylic paint, she also engages with printmaking to expand her artistic language. Trained in academic art during her adolescence, Tania later pursued a career in corporate finance before returning to painting through BFA studies, private programs, and workshops. Her work is exhibited in Finland and is held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
