Description
This captivating work depicts a bird perched elegantly on a snow-covered branch, flanked by red apples. The bird's delicate features, with its finely detailed plumage, contrast skillfully with the wintry background of gray and blue hues, creating an atmosphere that is both serene and vibrant. The snow covering the fruit and branches adds a touch of ephemerality to the scene, emphasizing the transient nature of winter. The artist uses a subtle palette to capture the nuances of light on the apples, revealing a remarkable mastery of shadow and texture. This painting stands out for its ability to evoke the silence and fragile beauty of nature during the cold season, while inviting us to contemplate the intricate detail of each element. A work that testifies to a harmonious marriage of realism and visual poetry.
Presentation
I trained as an artist at the Ecole du Louvre, and at the same time practised in a private studio in Paris. I've been able to develop my experience through a wide range of opportunities, including fieldwork in archaeology, drawings and gouaches of archaeological objects, museography with the design of archaeological exhibitions, brochures and textile creations for regional museums, illustrations for specialist magazines, theses and articles for the CNRS. I have also worked in collaboration with ornithologists from the city of Paris, for whom I have drawn and painted birds. I then made the transition to children's publishing with Nathan.
Today I devote my time to painting animals, with a particular interest in birds and their natural habitats.
I usually work in acrylic on cotton or linen stretchers, often from photographs. I can produce your compositions on canvas, paper, wood, glass, slate or textiles.
I work with a craftsman to design lampshades to your specifications.
