Description
A local author reading from his work at a local bookstore/cafe. He exuded wisdom and an inner serenity that caught me up in his words. In crafting this piece, I've imbued each stroke with the tranquility of a mindful moment. Soft pastels have given life to a figure engrossed in thought, the tactile texture mirroring the depth of contemplation. Realism bridges the gap between observer and subject, inviting a shared experience of introspection. This artwork channels a serene energy, becoming a silent companion in one's abode, nurturing an atmosphere of reflective calm and intellectual warmth.
Presentation
Artist Statement:
I paint transitions in nature, breathing room for both eyes and mind to rest. My work focuses on subtle shifts in time, the spaces in-between: the last drops of rain as the storm passes over; the dawn dew on the web; the egg shell after the bird has flown. I hope my paintings invoke memories of such tiny, miraculous details – the light, the scents, the sounds that encapsulate those singular, quiet moments.
